ABOUT the artist:

Hey there, I’m Molly (she/they)!

Welcome to this corner of the internet where my creative world unfolds—a place shaped by vulnerability, resilience, and the belief that it’s all compost. Life’s mess—the wins, losses, love, shame, and struggle—feeds the soil of who we are becoming, and my art is rooted in that cycle of breaking down and blooming anew.

I’m a mixed media artist, storyteller, and creative guide, and my work is all about finding beauty in the layers—literal and emotional. I explore the in-betweens: the tender, uncomfortable places where shame lives, and the messy, miraculous process of transformation begins. My art is deeply personal, shaped by my experiences as a woman, a mother, and someone who chose to leave behind a life and belief system that no longer fit.

For me, creativity is more than making something beautiful—it’s survival. It’s a way to untangle what we feel, to make sense of who we are, and to connect with others on a deeper level. My process often starts with scribbles and spirals, the instinctive marks that mirror the chaos of my inner world. I build from there, layering in fragments of text, composted materials, and hidden symbols, letting each piece become a conversation with itself.

Beyond my art, I pour this love of creativity into teaching and community-building. Whether it’s helping someone discover their creative voice through a class, mentoring artists as they prepare for solo shows, or sharing my journey on my Substack, Compost & Creation, I’m here to remind you that your story matters. Creativity is a way of leaving your mark—a reflection of the life you’ve lived and the resilience you’ve grown.

Through my podcast, Behind the Studio Door, I invite other creatives to share their stories too, peeling back the layers of their work and processes to reveal the messy, human side of making. And in my Substack, I go behind the scenes, sharing the raw truths, poems, and reflections that fuel my art and life.

I believe that it’s all compost. Every bit of our lives—experiences, wins, losses, love, and suffering—feeds the soil of existence. We get to take part in this cycle, to create from it, and to leave our mark on the world in the process.

What a miracle. What a gift.
